Egypt, Bahrain seek to maintain regional peace

CAIRO — Egypt and Bahrain stressed the importance of strengthening the mechanisms of joint Arab action within the framework of the effort to maintain the state of peace and security in the face of various diverse and escalating challenges in the region.

During their meeting on Saturday, Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Bahraini King Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa discussed bilateral and regional issues of common interest, Egyptian presidential spokesman Ahmad Fahmy said.

In addition, both leaders exchanged views and visions, reiterating the importance of intensifying cooperation between the two brotherly countries, the spokesman added.



King Hamad, now on a visit to Egypt, held the summit talks with President El-Sisi in the Mediterranean port city of New Alamain, northwest Egypt. They discussed political and economic relations.

The two leaders discussed a number of regional and international issues and developments, affirming the importance of intensifying coordination between Egypt and Bahrain.

El-Sisi also received in Alamein city this morning President of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Mohamed Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, where they emphasized the strong and distinguished relations between the two countries.

The Egyptian and Emirati leaders also discussed ways to continue strengthening cooperation in the economic and development fields. — Agencies
