JEDDAH – Air India announced special discounted fares for its economy class passengers bound for various Indian destinations from Jeddah. There has been a tremendous response for the special offers announced by India’s national carrier, according to M.A. Noor Mohamed, Western Region manager of Air India.

He said the offers that were announced earlier, on the occasion of India’s Independence Day for a two-week period from Aug. 15 to 31, have further been extended from Sept. 10 to Dec. 31 as requested by the Indian community. The minimum round trip discounted fares from Jeddah to major destinations in India are the following, with one way fares in brackets: Kochi SR1,213 (SR695); Kozhikode SR1,215 (SR700); New Delhi SR1,270 (SR845); Hyderabad SR1,531(SR894); and Mumbai SR1,270 (SR795). The fares are inclusive of all taxes, except service charges of travel agencies. The passengers will be allowed to carry 40 kg baggage both ways and the offer price is valid subject to availability of seats on a particular flight and date, Mohamed added.
