JEDDAH — Pakistan Haj Volunteers Group (PHVG) completed its Haj campaign program 2014 at the Pakistan Consulate General Jeddah in its final session of the presentation and training of the volunteers recently.



During the presentation, Prof Wasim Shahid Bukhari, media coordinator, said: “PHVG is a 100 percent volunteer group.” Volunteers from all fields and backgrounds from all major cities of Saudi Arabia took part in the event. “They are united for one purpose — to help Hajjis during their Haj and earn Allah’s reward,” said Bukhari.



He said the vision of PVHG is to provide support services to Haj pilgrims through mobilization of Pakistani volunteers in association with the World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY).



Around 3,000 volunteers ware trained to help old and sick pilgrims by providing physical assistance; help lost Hujjaj in finding their respective camps in Mina; guide Hujjaj to and from camps to Jamarat and return; help other Haj services groups and Saudi authorities to translate instructions to Pakistani pilgrims in native languages.



Mohammed Nawaz, the group’s senior founder member, said the group volunteers will also help Hujjaj irrespective of their nationalities. Syed Abu Ahmed Akif, director Haj at Pakistan Haj mission Pakistan Consulate General Jeddah, was present at the final session of the training.
