JEDDAH —The Honorary Consuls Council held its annual ceremony to honor 50 diplomats and prominent personnel in Jeddah Monday at Park Hyatt.



The President of Honorary Consuls, Mohammad Mahmoud Attar, Honorary Consul of Canada, confirmed the importance of considering the interests of the member states in economic, social, scientific and cultural fields in coordination with consulates general, which is under the supervision of the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs.



Attar ensured the important role of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to facilitate and overcome obstacles before businessmen and honorary consuls to boost the council development since its foundation in 2004.



During the ceremony, honorary council members and consul generals honored important personalities, ambassadors, presidents of international organizations and presidents of government departments who have had an important role in supporting the diplomatic, social and economic ties with their countries, and facilitate the work of the missions to serve their citizens.



Algerian Consul General and Dean of Arab Consuls General Group, Saleh praised the Honorary Consul Council and in its role in boosting

relations between the countries in diverse areas.



The members of the council include  Honorary Consul of Panama Abdul Khaliq Saeed, Honorary Consul of Austria Saleh Al Turky, Honorary Consul of Cyprus Mohammad Al Fadhl, Honorary Consul of Sornam Hammam Khashim, Honorary Consul Czech Republic Hussein Shobokshi, Honorary Consul of Belgium Hassan Kabbani, Honorary Consul of Chile Saif Sharbatly, Vice President Honorary Consuls Council Honorary Consul of Congo Mohammed Al-Jehani, Honorary Consul of the Republic of Belarus Mazen Batterjee, Honorary Consul of Chile Adnan Ahmed Zainy, Honorary Consul of New Zealand Abdul Raouf Abuzinadah, Honorary Consul of Liberia Khalid Ahmed Zainy, and Honorary Consul of Mauritius Hashim Ali Mahdi .
