JEDDAH — The Nazriya-e-Pakistan Forum (NPF) ladies wing paid rich tributes to its founder chairman, renowned journalist and editor-in-chief of daily "Nawai waqt Pakistan late Dr. Majid Nizami at a function held at Kababish restaurant Thursday.
Alina Mohammed Naeem Khan, wife of the assistant secretary general of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), was the chief guest at the function.
Khan appreciated the efforts of the NPF members for projecting Pakistan and the philosophy of Islamic ideology in Saudi Arabia.
She expressed her deep sorrow of the sad demise of Nizami and prayed to Allah for having mercy on his soul.
During the function eminent ladies of the Pakistani community included Aisha Amir Mohammed Khan, Rubila Jamil Rathore, Najma Aijaz, Pervaiz Yousuf and Shahida Jamil threw light on the services and contributions rendered by Nizami for Nazriya-e-Pakistan (Pakistan Perspective) and Istehkam-e-Pakistan (Continuity of Pakistan).
The program started with the recitation of a few verses from the Qur'an by Mrs.Usman. Naat was presented by Mrs.Iqbal Nasim.
Khadija Malik and Iqra Usman presented national anthems of Saudi Arabia and Pakistan.
Shahina Absar, Mrs. Usman, Iqra Usman and Mrs. Moin Sheikh sang patriotic songs like "sohni dhurti Allah rakhe qadam qadam Abad."
Safia Ishaq, president NPF, welcomed all guests and shed light on the ideology of Pakistan.
She said NPF will continue its mission under the leadership of the new chairman, former President of Pakistan, Rafiq Tarer.
Mrs. Basheer Afridi and her daughter Iqra Afridi presented an appreciation certificate to Safia Ishaq.
Rifat Masood Puri thanked the guests and audience. Mrs. Iqbal Nasim conducted the function.
Journalist Fauzia Khan expressed her sentiments in couplets on Pakistan.
