JEDDAH — Consul General Pakistan Aftab Ahmed Khokher made an appeal to all Muslims, particularly the Pakistani community living in Saudi Arabia, to help raise funds for affected internally displaced persons (IDPs) under an operation titled "Zarb-e Azb," launched by Pakistan Army.
Speaking to the representative of the media persons at his residence, Khokher said people can help these IDP’s with their Zakat in this holy month of Ramadan and donate for Pakistan Prime Minister Pakistan Mohammed Nawaz Sharif relief fund for IDPs 2014.
Fund transfers can be made through State Bank, National bank and other registered branches.
Khokher said: "The funds generated from the community will be spent on the welfare of the IDPs. They are our Pakistani and Muslim brothers. It is our duty to help them in this crisis period of their lives."
He also condemned the attack on a Saudi security post near the border with Yemen, praising the Saudi security forces for taking brave steps to handle the situation successfully.
He also informed the gathering about the developments in consulate's services.
The expansion work of the existing waiting hall and separate waiting lounge for ladies will start soon.
The construction works of the new consulate building are also under processes.
