JEDDAH — A Pakistan Repatriation Council (PRC) delegation recently called on Senator Raja Zafrul Haque, secretary general of the World Muslim Congress (WMC) at the office of Dr. Abdullah Omar Nasseef, president of the World Muslim Congress (WMC) and former secretary general of the Muslim World League (WML) recently.



The delegation submitted a memorandum for the repatriation and rehabilitation of Pakistanis stranded in Bangladesh since 1971.



The memorandum requested that in case Rabita Trust could not be revived then Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif should create another organization with same mandate with Punjab chief minister as its chairman. Since all the allocated land lies in Punjab, it is most appropriate for the chief minister of that state to head the organization. It will also eliminate undue bureaucracy and intervention, the memorandum said.



It also urged Dr. Nasseef to use his good offices for securing financial and logistical support from Kingdom and organizations like the Organization of Islamic Countries (OIC) and MWL.



Meanwhile, the PRC felicitated Naeem Khan on his selection as OIC assistant secretary general.



The PRC hoped that Khan would be able to extend his strong role in solving the Palestine, Afghanistan, Kashmir, Burmese Muslims, Pakistanis stranded in Bangladesh and other issues faced by the Muslim Ummah.
