JEDDAH — Noted Saudi psychologist and scholar Dr. Khaled Bahaziq highlighted the significance of family life in Islam.
“The divine religion has designed family life in a way that makes human life more meaningful and enjoyable and the best example for this was the life of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him),” he said while delivering keynote speech at a community event on the Holy Qur’an organized recently by the Jeddah Goodwill Forum (Sauhrada Vicharavedi), an umbrella body of various Keralite religious organizations.
Bahaziq, who holds double Ph.Ds in psychology, shared some examples on how Qur’an plays an electrifying impact on the life of believers.
“Even the recitation of Qur’an by a mother during the time of her pregnancy would influence her fetus,” he said while urging the audience to have more intimacy with Qur’an, which was revealed as a catalog to make life more meaningful, enjoyable and worth-living.
Muhammad Alungal, chairman and managing director of Al Abeer Medical Group, inaugurated the function held at Impala Garden Restaurant auditorium.
Alungal lauded the commendable efforts being made by the forum to strengthen the unity among different organizations so as to improve the community’s progress and prosperity.
In his presidential speech, Mullaveettil Saleem, president of the forum, underscored the role of the 18-month-old forum in bringing together of various organizations under a common platform.
Abdul Shukoor Ali, president of Thanima; Shaukat Ali, Indian Islahi Center-Madinah Road; T.H. Darimi, Jeddah Islamic Center; Yousuf Farouqi, Indian Islahi Center; Mustafa Saadi,ICF; Hussein Baqawi, IDC; and Abdurahman Umari, preacher at Old Airport Jaliyat also spoke on the occasion.
Forum Convener Ismail Maritheri of King Abdulaziz University welcomed the gathering and Ibrahim Shamnad proposed the vote of thanks.
Famous singer Mashhoud Thangal led a variety of cultural programs, staged by school children.
Prizes were distributed to winners of Qur’an recitation competition, organized by the forum under the aegis of Old Airport Jaliyat for madrasa students here. The first prize winner Muhammad Safwan of Imam Rasi Madrasa won the gold medal and Ahmad Suhail of Imam Rasi Madrasa won the second prize while K. Muhammad Faheem of Al-Noor Madrasa and Shaheen Zubair of Imam Bukhari Madrasa shared the third prize.
