RIYADH — Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan held a series of phone calls on Thursday with regional and international counterparts to discuss developments in the region.

Prince Faisal spoke with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, with discussions focusing on regional developments and ways to enhance security and stability across the region.

He also held talks with Omani Foreign Minister Badr Al Busaidi, during which the two sides reviewed the latest regional developments and joint efforts aimed at maintaining security and stability.

In a separate call, Prince Faisal spoke with Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani. The discussions addressed current regional developments and ongoing efforts to promote stability.

The Saudi foreign minister also spoke with French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot, focusing on recent developments in the region and their implications for regional security and stability.

The calls come amid heightened regional tensions following the withdrawal of some US personnel from military bases in the Middle East, including in Qatar, amid concerns over potential escalation with Iran. Tehran has warned it would target US bases if attacked. US President Donald Trump said he had been told that “the killing in Iran has stopped,” but has not ruled out military action.
