RIYADH — The General Directorate of Civil Defense has warned Saudis and expatriates against hazards caused by rainfall, including flash floods and water accumulation. It advised the public to avoid flood-prone areas and refrain from attempting to cross them.
The directorate warned against picnicking or swimming near flood channels and waterlogged areas. It stressed the role of families in raising awareness and keeping children away from dangerous locations during outdoor activities.
The Civil Defense stressed the importance of following official instructions issued through media outlets and social media platforms, and reminded the public to call 911 in Riyadh, Makkah, Madinah, and the Eastern Province, and 998 in other regions of the Kingdom, in case of emergencies.
