JEDDAH —
The National Center for Meteorology (NCM) has issued multiple weather alerts across several regions of the Kingdom as dust and sand storms, driven by active winds, are forecast to affect visibility and public safety throughout Tuesday.

A red alert has been issued for the Eastern Province, including Al-Khafji and Hafar Al-Batin, from 4:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., warning of severe dust storms that could reduce horizontal visibility to around one kilometer or less.

Similar red alert conditions are in place in the Northern Borders region, covering Al-Uwayqilah and Arar from 4:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and Rafha from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

In the Riyadh region, the NCM issued an orange alert for several governorates, including Al-Zulfi, Al-Ghat, Al-Majmaah, Shaqra, Thadiq, Huraymila, Rimah, Durma, Marrat, Al-Dawadmi, Al-Rayn, Al-Quwayiyah, Afif, as well as Riyadh and Diriyah.

The alert runs from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and forecasts blowing dust and strong winds that may significantly reduce horizontal visibility to between one and three kilometers.

A yellow alert has also been issued for the southern parts of the Riyadh region, including Al-Hareeq, Al-Kharj, Al-Dilam, Al-Muzahimiyah, and Hotat Bani Tamim, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Additional warnings are in effect in the Eastern Province for Al-Nuayriyah and Qaryat Al-Ulya during the same period.

The NCM also released satellite imagery showing a dense dust storm affecting parts of Al-Jawf and the Northern Borders, resulting in zero or near-zero visibility, with conditions expected to persist in the coming hours.

Residents have been urged to exercise caution, follow instructions issued by relevant authorities, and monitor official weather updates due to the potential safety risks.
