RIYADH — Saudi Defense Minister Prince Khalid bin Salman said on Friday that the southern Yemen issue has entered a genuine political track sponsored by Saudi Arabia and supported by the international community through the Riyadh Conference.

In a post on his X account, Prince Khalid said the conference aims to bring together Yemen’s southern figures to develop a comprehensive vision for fair solutions that reflect their will and aspirations.

He said Saudi Arabia will form a preparatory committee, in consultation with southern Yemeni figures, to organize the conference, which will include participants from all southern governorates without exclusion or discrimination.

Prince Khalid added that the Kingdom will support the outcomes of the Riyadh Conference and ensure they are presented within the framework of comprehensive political talks to resolve the Yemeni crisis.

He described the decision by southern leaders and figures to dissolve the Southern Transitional Council as “courageous,” saying it reflects concern for the future of the southern cause and encourages broader participation by southerners in the Riyadh Conference in service of their issue.
