RIYADH — The Coalition to Support Legitimacy in Yemen said it carried out a limited air operation targeting weapons and combat vehicles unloaded at the port of Mukalla after two vessels entered the port without authorization to support forces of the Southern Transitional Council in eastern Yemen.

Coalition spokesman Col. Turki Al-Maliki said the two ships arrived on Saturday and Sunday, Dec. 27–28, 2025, from Fujairah Port without obtaining official clearance from the Joint Forces Command of the coalition.
He added that the crews disabled the vessels’ tracking systems before offloading a large quantity of weapons and military vehicles.
Al-Maliki said the shipment was intended to fuel conflict in the eastern Yemeni governorates of Hadramout and Al-Mahra, constituting a clear violation of de-escalation efforts and a breach of UN Security Council Resolution 2216 (2015).
Acting on a request from the Chairman of Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council to take all necessary measures to protect civilians in Hadramout and Al-Mahra, coalition air forces conducted a limited, precision operation early Tuesday targeting the weapons and vehicles after they were unloaded at Mukalla port, he said.
The spokesman stressed that the operation was carried out in accordance with international humanitarian law and customary rules, with measures taken to prevent collateral damage.
Al-Maliki reaffirmed the coalition’s commitment to reducing escalation and enforcing calm in Hadramout and Al-Mahra, and to preventing the delivery of any military support by any state to Yemeni factions without coordination with the legitimate Yemeni government and the coalition, in order to support efforts to restore security and stability and prevent the conflict from widening.
The coalition confirmed that the strike resulted in no human casualties or collateral damage, adding that no infrastructure or facilities at Al-Mukalla Port were affected by the operation.
