ANKARA — Libyan and French investigation teams on Saturday examined the crash site of a private jet that was carrying the late Libyan Chief of General Staff Gen. Mohammed Ali Al-Haddad, along with four accompanying officials and three crew members, authorities said.

The aircraft crashed near Kesikkavak village in Ankara’s Haymana district on Dec. 23, killing all eight people on board, including five members of the Libyan military delegation and three crew.

Work at the crash site resumed early Saturday, with Libyan and French teams arriving in coordination with Turkish authorities.

The teams were received in Kesikkavak village before proceeding to the wreckage location.

Following joint on-site inspections with Turkish officials, the Libyan and French teams concluded field search operations. Efforts to remove the wreckage began afterward.

Officials said the aircraft debris is expected to be transported to Malta for further technical examination as part of the investigation into the cause of the crash. — Agencies
