Saudi Gazette report

RIYADH — The Saudi-led Coalition said it will take immediate action against any military movements that obstruct efforts to de-escalate tensions and protect civilians in Yemen’s Hadramout province.

Coalition spokesperson Col. Turki Al-Maliki said the warning comes in response to a request from Yemen’s Presidential Leadership Council Chairman Rashad Al-Alimi to take urgent measures to protect civilians following what he described as “grave and shocking humanitarian violations” committed by armed elements affiliated with the Southern Transitional Council.

Al-Maliki said the Coalition’s actions are part of ongoing Saudi-Emirati efforts to reduce escalation, ensure the withdrawal of Transitional Council forces from military camps, hand them over to the National Shield Forces, and enable local authorities to carry out their responsibilities.

He stressed that any military movements that undermine these efforts will be dealt with directly and immediately, with the primary aim of protecting civilian lives and ensuring the success of Saudi-Emirati mediation efforts.

The Coalition reaffirmed its firm and continued support for Yemen’s internationally recognized government, calling on all parties to act with national responsibility, exercise restraint, and respond positively to peaceful solutions to preserve security and stability.
