RIYADH —The Syrian Ministry of Interior announced foiling of an attempt to smuggle approximately 26,000 Captagon pills bound for Saudi Arabia, thanks to meticulous field surveillance and continuous intelligence monitoring.

The ministry said that the seized quantity was found inside a bus station garage in Hama, where it was carefully concealed within a metal bed and camouflaged under a wooden mattress, demonstrating a high degree of professionalism in its concealment.

The Syrian ministry emphasized that the necessary legal measures have been taken, including the confiscation of the seized items, and that investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend all those involved in the operation, with the aim of bringing them to justice.


The ministry affirmed that security forces demonstrated high level of readiness and efficiency in detecting and foiling these activities, despite the deceiving methods employed by drug trafficking networks.
