RIYADH — The National Center for Meteorology (NCM) spokesman Hussein Al-Qahtani said the Kingdom’s first cold wave is expected to affect several regions by the end of this week.

Al-Qahtani said temperatures in northern areas could potentially approach 0°C, following the current round of rainfall that began on Sunday and is forecast to continue through Thursday across 12 regions.

He added that the NCM will issue a detailed report on the expected drop in temperatures.

The NCM had earlier warned that thunderstorm activity will continue from Sunday through Thursday in several areas, including Makkah, Madinah, Al-Jouf, Qassim, and Hail.
