Saudi Gazette observed moderate to heavy rainfall across the city, while citizens and expatriates gathered in parks and open spaces as overcast conditions continued.
Civil Defense urged the public to exercise caution and follow safety instructions amid the weather conditions affecting parts of the Makkah region, including Jeddah.
Authorities advised staying away from low-lying areas, water gatherings and valley floors.
Traffic teams in Jeddah were deployed across the city during the rainfall, working to clear roads, ease congestion and remove water buildup.
Earlier Tuesday, the National Center of Meteorology issued an alert for moderate to heavy thunderstorms expected to cause flash floods, accompanied by hail and strong winds stirring dust across most regions of the Kingdom.
The center said rain is forecast over parts of Makkah, Madinah, Qassim, Hail, as well as the Northern Borders and Al-Jouf, extending into the northern parts of the Eastern Province.
