RIYADH — Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman and Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani co-chaired the Saudi-Qatari Coordination Council meeting at Al-Yamamah Palace in Riyadh on Monday. The agenda of the meeting includes those topics that are aimed to further strengthen bilateral relations and advance cooperation between the two countries in various fields.


Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman also held official talks with Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. During the meeting, they reviewed the deep-rooted fraternal relations between the two countries and discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields, serving their common interests and strengthening joint Gulf action.


These talks come within the framework of the strong historical ties between the two countries and their ongoing coordination on various political, economic, and developmental issues. Earlier, Crown Prince received Emir Sheikh Tamim upon his arrival at King Khalid International Airport.

The Saudi-Qatari Coordination Council serves as a strategic platform to enhance bilateral cooperation in political, economic, military, and developmental areas, with the goal of deepening the partnership and elevating the level of coordination to meet the aspirations of Saudi and Qatari leaderships and serve their shared interests.

The convening of the Council meeting at this time reflects the commitment of Riyadh and Doha to maintain close coordination on regional and international issues of mutual concern, supporting regional stability, and strengthening joint Gulf action.

The Council meeting follows a series of preparatory meetings between the two sides in recent days, most notably the meeting between Saudi Foreign Minister Faisal bin Farhan and Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani in Riyadh. The meeting focused on bilateral relations, areas of cooperation, and ways to develop them.


The ministers also co-chaired a meeting of the Executive Committee of the Saudi - Qatari Coordination Council. The committee meeting reviewed the progress of the Council and its committees during the past period, discussed joint initiatives aimed at strengthening bilateral and multilateral cooperation, and finalized preparations for the Council's eighth meeting.
