TOKYO — Katy Perry and former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau appeared to confirm their relationship on Saturday after the singer posted photos and videos of the pair together during her tour stop in Japan, marking their first public acknowledgment on social media.

In one selfie, Perry and Trudeau smile with their faces touching.

Another clip shows the two trying sushi.

Neither has directly commented on their relationship, but speculation has been mounting for months after multiple sightings together, including Trudeau attending Perry’s concert earlier this year.

Perry, 41, is currently in Japan for her global Lifetimes Tour.

She captioned her Instagram carousel: “Tokyo times on tour and more.”

Trudeau, 53, also reposted a photo earlier this week of the pair meeting former Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and his wife, Yuko.

“Katy and I were so glad to have the chance to sit down with you and Yuko,” he wrote on X, thanking Kishida for his “friendship” and support for the international rules-based order.

Last month, the pair appeared to confirm their relationship after being photographed holding hands at an event in Paris coinciding with Perry’s 41st birthday.

TMZ published video showing Trudeau helping Perry into a car as photographers shouted questions.

During a recent London show, Perry indirectly referenced her relationship status.

When a fan proposed from the audience, she joked: “I wish you’d asked me 48 hours ago,” days after the first photos of her and Trudeau emerged.

Perry previously spent a decade in a long-term relationship with actor Orlando Bloom, with whom she shares a daughter.

Trudeau, who served as Canada’s prime minister from 2015 to 2025, separated from his wife Sophie Grégoire in 2023 after 18 years of marriage. They share three children. — Agencies
