RIYADH — The General Directorate of Civil Defense has urged the public to exercise caution, remain in safe areas, avoid valleys and flood-prone locations, and refrain from swimming in watercourses as the Kingdom prepares for several days of thunderstorms and rainfall from Saturday through Thursday.

The directorate called on residents to follow official instructions issued through media outlets and social platforms as weather conditions intensify.

According to forecasts, the Makkah region is expected to experience moderate to heavy rainfall that may lead to flash floods, hail, and dust-raising downdraft winds.

Affected areas include Makkah, Jeddah, Al-Kamil, Al-Jumum, Taif, Maysan, Adham, Rabigh, Khulais, Buhra, Al-Lith, Al-Qunfudhah, Al-Ardiyat, Turbah, Al-Muwaih, and Al-Khurmah.

The Riyadh region will see moderate rainfall, affecting Al-Dawadmi, Afif, Al-Zulfi, Al-Majma’ah, Al-Ghat, Shaqra, Thadiq, and Rumah.

The Civil Defense added that Tabuk, Madinah, Al-Jouf, Northern Borders, Hail, Qassim, the Eastern Region, and Al-Baha are also expected to see moderate to heavy rain leading to possible flash floods, hail, and dust-raising winds.

Meanwhile, the regions of Asir and Jazan may experience moderate rainfall.
