Saudi-Qatari panel discusses intensifying joint cooperation to achieve shared strategic interests

RIYADH — Saudi Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani co-chaired the Executive Committee meeting ofthe Saudi-Qatari Coordination Council at the Foreign Ministry's headquarters in Riyadh on Thursday.

The meeting reviewed the strong fraternal relations and ways to further develop them bilaterally and multilaterally within the framework of the Saudi-Qatari Coordination Council. The committee discussed ways to intensify joint cooperation through a number of initiatives that would elevate relations to broader horizons.

Both sides commended the existing cooperation and coordination among the subcommittees and working groups of the Coordination Council, emphasizing the importance of maintaining this momentum to achieve the shared strategic interests of the two countries and their peoples.

During the meeting, the Secretariat of the Executive Committee of the Saudi-Qatari Coordination Council reviewed the progress of the Council and its subcommittees over the past period, in addition to updates and preparations for the eighth meeting of the Saudi-Qatari Coordination Council.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Prince Faisal bin Farhan Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani signed the minutes of the Executive Committee meeting of the Saudi-Qatari Coordination Council.


The meeting was attended by the Saudi members of the Executive Committee: Minister of State and Member of the Council of Ministers Dr. Musaed Al-Aiban; Minister of Finance Mohammed Al-Jadaan; Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for Political Affairs Ambassador Dr. Saud Al-Sati; and Eng. Fahd Al-Harthi, head of the General Secretariat's working group.

Earlier, Prince Faisal bin Farhan received Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani at the ministry's headquarters in Riyadh. During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations, areas of joint cooperation, and ways to develop them to meet the aspirations of the leadership and people of the two countries.
