BANGKOK — Saudi Minister of Justice Dr. Walid Al-Samaani and Thailand’s Minister of Justice Rutthaphon Naowarat signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at expanding cooperation in legal and judicial fields during an official visit to Bangkok.
The meeting discussed mechanisms to enhance judicial collaboration, exchange expertise, and develop legislative and institutional frameworks in ways that support greater efficiency and modernization within both countries’ justice systems.
Dr. Al-Samaani reviewed recent developments within Saudi Arabia’s justice sector, supported by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and overseen by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman. He highlighted ongoing advancements in specialized legislation, judicial services, and the strengthening of institutional performance.
The discussions also touched on the activation of preventive justice and the expansion of training programs at the Judicial Training Center, which aims to build the legal and professional capabilities of judicial personnel.
The MoU establishes avenues for exchanging expertise and information, cooperation in developing judicial systems and work practices, and supporting the advancement of professional skills.
Both sides said the agreement reflects their shared commitment to deepening judicial cooperation and broadening the partnership between the two countries. — SG
