RIYADH — The Ministry of Defense has announced inviting applications for its Unified Recruitment Program for military service. Young Saudi men and women who have high school graduation certificates and above can apply for enrolment in various ranks of military services for the year 1447 AH.

The ministry stated that applications will be accepted starting Sunday, Dec. 7, for a period of five days. Applications are open to those with qualifications ranging from high school graduation to bachelor's degrees. There will be exemptions to certain residency requirements for those who resided with their parents while they were serving the state outside the Kingdom. The available ranks of vacancies include: Private, Private First Class, Corporal, Vice Sergeant, and Sergeant.

According to the ministry, applicants must be of Saudi origin and descent with good conduct. They must not have been either dismissed from military sectors or previously joined the military service. They must pass the personal interview, physical fitness and specialization tests, in addition to the required academic qualifications. Applicants' height and weight must be proportionate, with a minimum height of 160 cm for men and 155 cm for women, the ministry added.
