AR RASS — Al Kholood continued their remarkable King’s Cup run, advancing to the semifinals after defeating Al Khaleej 4-3 in a dramatic quarterfinal at Al Hazm Club Stadium in Ar Rass.
The hosts struck early through Romero Enrique in the 3rd minute, before Mezyani Maoulyda doubled the lead in the 24th minute following a move created by Hattan Bahebri, who had set up the second goal.
Al Khaleej clawed one back in first-half stoppage time when Mansour Hamzi finished to make it 2-1. But Al Kholood responded instantly, with Bahebri finding the net moments before the break to restore the two-goal cushion.
The second half exploded into life immediately, as Saleh Al Amri curled a superb long-range strike in the 47th minute to reduce the deficit to 3-2.
Al Kholood regained control late on, with Jon Buckley making it 4-2 in the 83rd minute.
Shaquille Pinas added a consolation for Al Khaleej deep into stoppage time, but it wasn’t enough to stop the hosts from booking a historic semifinal berth.
