RIYADH — The Human Rights Commission has concluded a specialized training program aimed at strengthening the skills of inspectors responsible for monitoring workplace environments and labor housing.
The program, organized in cooperation with the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, was held from November 23 to 27 at the commission’s headquarters in Riyadh, and attended by Vice President Dr. Hisham Al-Sheikh.
Ghada Al-Ibrahim, Assistant President for Human Rights Protection, said the program reflects the commission’s ongoing efforts to enhance the efficiency of inspection mechanisms and ensure their alignment with international human rights standards and best global practices that safeguard the dignity and rights of all workers.
She noted that the partnership with international experts from the United Nations and the International Labour Organization enriched the program’s content and enabled the exchange of expertise, supporting the development of a more effective and capable inspection system.
Al-Ibrahim added that the program marks an important step in improving oversight of workplace environments.
The commission will continue implementing targeted initiatives that promote labor rights and improve working conditions in line with ongoing legislative and institutional reforms in the Kingdom.
The training included presentations and discussion sessions covering international inspection systems, governance frameworks, and strategies to improve inspection processes related to occupational health and safety in labor accommodations.
