RIYADH — The Transport General Authority (TGA) announced on Saturday that it had detained 1,349 individuals across the Kingdom for violating transport regulations by operating passenger services without a “kdadah” permit between November 15 and 21.
According to the TGA statement, 723 individuals were found engaging in preparatory solicitation activities, known locally as “al-munadah,” while 626 others were caught transporting passengers illegally in their private vehicles.
All violators were subjected to regulatory measures, including vehicle impoundment and financial penalties.
The authority noted that repeated “munadah” violations carry a fine of up to SR 11,000 and vehicle impoundment for up to 25 days.
Operating unlicensed passenger transport services can result in fines of up to SR 20,000 and vehicle impoundment for up to 60 days for repeat offenses.
The TGA said the ongoing inspection campaigns aim to ensure that all transport operators comply with licensing requirements, encourage the public to use authorized transportation services, and enhance the overall quality of passenger transport across the Kingdom.
