RIYADH — Minister of Islamic Affairs, Call and Guidance Sheikh Abdullatif Al-Sheikh announced on Friday the opening of applications for 31,000 vacancies for mosque imams and muezzins across all regions of Saudi Arabia. The appointment will be based on a part-time remuneration system.

Minister Al-Sheikh emphasized that this initiative comes with the direct support of the Saudi leadership to enhance the ministry's role in serving mosques and improving the quality of administrative and technical work in all its branches. “The new positions do not require full-time employment, allowing applicants to hold two jobs simultaneously,” he said while calling on all qualified citizens to apply for the positions of imams and muezzins under an incentive system through the ministry's branches in the regions all over the Kingdom.“This large number of positions, meant for the Saudi citizens, will positively impact the administrative and technical apparatus of the ministry and its branches,” he said.

The minister stated that the National Employment Plan has come to an end with the signing of the final eight contracts this week, resulting in the creation of a total of 91,000 jobs, including 60,000 previously filled positions and 31,000 new positions specifically designated for imams and muezzins, as part of the ministry's efforts to achieve the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.

The ministry has already completed its largest recruitment project in history with the appointment of 60,000 male and female citizens across all its branches throughout the Kingdom.
