RIYADH — A total of 5,443,393 pilgrims from within Saudi Arabia and abroad have performed Umrah during the second quarter of 2025, according to the Umrah statistics, released by the General Authority for Statistics (GASTAT) on Thursday.

Male pilgrims constitute 61.6 percent, with 3,352,506 in number, while females represent 38.4 percent, with 2,090,887 in number.


The GASTAT report indicated that domestic pilgrims constituted the majority of the pilgrims, totaling 4.1 million, including 2.6 million men and 1.4 million women. Saudis comprised 2.1 million of these pilgrims, representing 51.6 percent of the total, while 1.3 million pilgrims came from abroad.

Meanwhile, the number of pilgrims arriving from outside the Kingdom stood at 1,324,418, and these include 653,513 males (49.3 percent) and 670,905 females (50.7 percent). Regarding entry points, 71.6 percent of foreign pilgrims arrived via air, 28.2 percent through land, and 0.2 percent by sea.

The results also showed that 62.9 percent of domestic pilgrims performed Umrah with their families, while 28.7 percent performed it individually. Pilgrims performing Umrah with friends represented the smallest percentage, at 8.4 percent of all domestic pilgrims during the second quarter of 2025.

Pilgrims from the Makkah region constituted the highest percentage of domestic pilgrims during the second quarter, with their number reaching 1.7 million, representing 43.1 percent of the total domestic pilgrims. The number of pilgrims from the Riyadh region reached more than 600,000 pilgrims, representing 14.6 percent of the total, while their number from the Northern Borders region reached more than 9,000 pilgrims, representing 0.2 percent of the total domestic pilgrims.

The Umrah statistics are released periodically and provide accurate data on the number of Umrah pilgrims and visitors from inside and outside the Kingdom, serving as a reliable reference for supporting policies and plans related to Umrah and visit services
