President Abbas hails Saudi Arabia’s steadfast position in defending rights of Palestinians

RIYADH — Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas expressed his deep appreciation for the positions reaffirmed by Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman during his meeting with US President Donald Trump at the White House in Washington on Tuesday.

Abbas commended the courageous Saudi positions, which underscore the firm, unwavering commitment of the Kingdom to defending the rights of the Palestinian people and upholding Palestinian legitimacy.

He also praised the efforts of Saudi Arabia, led by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and the Crown Prince, in advancing the two-state solution as the fundamental path to achieving a just peace that safeguards the future of the Palestinian people, their historical rights, and their holy sites.

Abbas affirmed the State of Palestine's commitment to continued full coordination and ongoing consultation with Saudi Arabia to achieve the goal of establishing a Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
