WASHINGTON — Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman was hosted at a White House dinner on Tuesday evening, where he was received upon arrival by U.S. President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump.

In his remarks, President Trump announced that the United States will elevate its military cooperation with Saudi Arabia by formally designating the Kingdom as a major non-NATO ally, describing Riyadh as a force for stability in the Middle East.
He said U.S.–Saudi relations have reached their strongest point in history, noting that his meeting with the Crown Prince comes eight decades after the historic encounter between King Abdulaziz and President Franklin D. Roosevelt.
The Crown Prince thanked President Trump for the warm welcome and generous hospitality, emphasizing the long-standing Saudi–U.S. relationship built over many decades since the Roosevelt era.
He said both nations stand before “very large pathways” that serve their mutual interests and offer significant new opportunities.
He added that the level of alignment between Saudi Arabia and the United States today is greater than ever, expressing optimism about deeper cooperation and expanding opportunities for both countries in the years ahead.
