Saudi Gazette report

HAIL — Saudi citizen Ahmed Al-Anzi rescued two Chinese residents after their vehicle overturned and was swept away by floodwaters in Al-Shamli Governorate, southwest of Hail, on Sunday evening.

Al-Anzi was driving with Hamoud Masamah Al-Anzi and Mubarak Farih Al-Anzi when they spotted the overturned vehicle.

Realizing two people were trapped inside, Ahmed entered the fast-moving waters and pulled both residents to safety, risking being swept away by the strong current.

The rescue took place amid widespread flash floods across Saudi Arabia, including in the Makkah, Madinah, and Riyadh regions, following heavy rainfall and thunderstorms.

The National Centre for Meteorology had issued alerts warning of intense rainfall across the Kingdom.

The downpours came shortly after mosques across the Kingdom performed a special rain-seeking prayer.
