RIYADH — The Council of Health Insurance has called on accredited service providers for health insurance beneficiaries—including hospitals, pharmacies, medical complexes, laboratories, and health centers—to register on the National Data Governance Platform of the Saudi Data and AI Authority (SDAIA).

The call is based on Article 2 of the Rules Governing the National Register of Controllers within the Kingdom, aiming to establish a unified national registry to monitor compliance with the Personal Data Protection Law and its executive regulations. This is also aimed to enhance providers’ awareness of the importance of implementing personal data protection standards.

The National Data Governance Platform is one of SDAIA’s key channels, designed to help entities and individuals comply with the law, its executive regulations, and related documents issued by SDAIA. The platform offers services such as a self-assessment compliance tool, personal data breach notifications, privacy impact assessments, and a channel for submitting complaints related to personal data processing.

The collaboration between the council and SDAIA reflects the integration of national efforts to raise awareness and promote understanding of the importance of registration on the platform, contributing to the protection of beneficiaries’ personal data.

The council urged all accredited service providers for health insurance beneficiaries to register through the platform at: https://dgp.sdaia.gov.sa/wps/portal/pdp/Registration/private and benefit from its easy-to-use electronic services. Failure to register constitutes a regulatory violation subject to the provisions outlined in Article 36 of the Personal Data Protection Law.
