RIYADH — Saudi Minister of Culture Prince Badr bin Abdullah held separate meetings with his Nigerian and Albanian counterparts in Riyadh on Monday. The meetings were held on the sidelines of the 26th session of the United Nations General Assembly on Tourism.

During the meeting, Prince Badr and Nigeria’s Minister of Arts, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy Hannatu Musa Musawa discussed ways to further enhance cooperation and cultural exchange in various cultural realms, including cooperation in the long-term loan of a number of archaeological and artistic artifacts and the exchange of expertise between the two friendly countries.

Prince Badr also met with Albanian Minister of Tourism, Culture, and Sports Blendi Gonxhja to discuss the strong relations between the Kingdom and Albania, particularly in the cultural spheres. These include cooperation between the King Salman Global Academy for the Arabic Language and the University of Tirana in the field of Arabic language education. The initiative of the Saudi Literature, Publishing, and Translation Commission to translate books by Saudi authors from Arabic into Albanian also figured in their talks.

The Albanian minister praised the efforts of Saudi Arabia, represented by the Ministry of Culture, in organizing the Saudi Cultural Week in Albania, which was held in September.

Assistant Minister of Culture Rakan Al-Tuwaiq and Undersecretary of the Ministry for International Cultural Relations Fahd Al-Kanaan attended the meetings.
