RIYADH — Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman has called for performing rain-seeking (Istisqa) prayer throughout the Kingdom on Thursday, Nov. 13. This is based on the Tradition (Sunnah) of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to perform rain-seeking prayer, the Royal Court said in a statement carried by the Saudi Press Agency.

The King urged all the faithful to increase their repentance, seek forgiveness, and turn to God Almighty in supplications to be kind to His servants. He also underlined the need to increase their voluntary acts of worship, such as giving charity, as well as performing prayers, and engage in supplications.

“The faithful should also strive to ease the burdens of people and alleviate their distress, so that God may relieve our hardship and grant us what we hope for,” the King said while praying to God to show mercy on the Kingdom and its people.
