Saudi Gazette report
RIYADH — The General Directorate of Civil Defense will conduct a test of fixed siren system in the regions of Riyadh, Tabuk and Makkah on Monday, Nov. 3.

The sirens will sound over the governorates of Diriyah, Al-Kharj, and Al-Dilam in the Riyadh region, the governorates of Tabuk region, and the governorates of Jeddah and Thuwal in the Makkah region. This trial aims to raise community awareness as well as to ensure the efficiency of warning systems and their readiness to alert residents in emergency situations.

The National Early Warning Platform will broadcast warning messages, using the new behavior tone at 1:00 p.m., the national alert tone at 1:10 p.m., and concluding with the fixed siren system in designated areas at 1:15 p.m.

The experiment includes conducting tests on the National Early Warning Platform across all regions of the Kingdom in emergency situations via the cellular broadcast service. This is through sending warning messages to mobile phones accompanied by a distinctive audio tone, in conjunction with the implementation of the siren experiment in the selected regions.
