RIYADH — Saudi Arabia’s Grand Mufti, Chairman of the Council of Senior Scholars and Head of the General Presidency for Scientific Research and Ifta Sheikh Saleh Al-Fawzan praised the support and assistance received by the Ifta Department from Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman.
He emphasized that the Council of Senior Scholars and the Permanent Committee for Fatwa undertake a great mission in enlightening people about their religious affairs, in compliance with the words of God Almighty: “Ask the people of knowledge if you do not know."
Sheikh Al-Fawzan praised the outstanding contributions of the late Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdulaziz Al-Sheikh throughout his tenure as grand mufti and chairman of the Council of Senior Scholars until his passing. He asked God Almighty to forgive him, shower mercy on him, and elevate his status in the Paradise.
For his part, Secretary General of the Council of Senior Scholars Sheikh Fahd Al-Majed expressed his thanks and gratitude to King Salman and the Crown Prince on the occasion of the issuance of the royal decree appointing him as secretary general of the Permanent Committee for Fatwa, general supervisor of the Office of the Grand Mufti, and general supervisor of Administrative and Financial Affairs at the General Presidency for Scholarly Research and Ifta.
He emphasized that the General Presidency for Scholarly Research and Ifta will harness all its capabilities to ensure that the Council of Senior Scholars and the Permanent Committee for Fatwa fulfill their legitimate role and its religious mission with all sufficiency and competence.
