Saudi Gazette report

JEDDAH— The Jeddah Mayoralty announced the timeline for relocating auto scrap (used spare parts) sites from Al-Hamdaniyah neighborhood to the new site, south of Jeddah. The timeline will begin on Monday, December 1, 2025.

The mayoralty urged investors and those working in this field to quickly complete evacuation procedures and to contact the Jeddah Development and Urban Regeneration Company for any relevant inquiries.

This measure is part of the implementation of the Auto Scrap Project, a key component of the Metal Collection City project. The project aims to create an integrated model center that brings together investors in the scrapyard business within an organized environment, prepared to provide services in a civilized and safe manner.

The mayoralty explained that the project spreads over a total area of 1.9 million square meters, of which 850,000 square meters is leasable, comprising 291 plots of land of varying sizes, allowing flexibility in individual or complex leasing options, in addition to commercial and service sites serving the area's visitors and investors.

The mayoralty noted that the plan features integrated public services and facilities, including shops, parking lots, mosques, labor housing, and public restrooms, in addition to a network of roads and pedestrian paths designed according to the highest safety and urban planning standards. The mayoralty stated that the Jeddah Development and Urban Regeneration Company signed a partnership agreement to build a power plant in the Metal Collection City and is working to complete the supporting services over the coming period.
