RIYADH — The Royal Commission for Riyadh City (RCRC) has launched a comprehensive demographic household survey of Riyadh’s residents, in cooperation withthe General Authority for Statistics, to monitor and analyze population dynamics amid the capital’s continued growth and urban development.
The survey aims to assess Riyadh’s demographic landscape, examining residents’ social, educational, and economic characteristics, as well as housing conditions, migration trends, and internal mobility within the city.
Covering more than 217 neighborhoods within the city’s 5,960-square-kilometer development protection boundary, the demographic survey will be conducted in several stages, beginning with field data collection and analysis using advanced digital tools, and culminating in the preparation of key demographic indicators.
These indicators will support sustainable urban planning, the development of public services, and efforts to enhance quality of life for Riyadh’s residents.
The RCRC said the project will continuously monitor and update demographic data within the city’s urban information systems, using approved statistical methodologies to better understand population trends.
The launch of the survey aligns with the RCRC’s ongoing efforts to conduct population studies and surveys that inform urban policies and planning, providing updated and reliable data to guide Riyadh’s future.
