RIYADH — Saudi Arabia welcomed the signing of an immediate ceasefire agreement by Pakistan and Afghanistan. The Kingdom also hailed the establishment of mechanisms aimed at consolidating lasting peace and stability between the two countries during the negotiations held in Doha.
“The Kingdom affirms its support for all regional and international efforts aimed at promoting peace and stability, and its constant commitment to ensuring security in a manner that achieves stability and prosperity for the peoples of Pakistan and Afghanistan. It also looks forward to this positive step contributing to ending border tensions between the two countries,” the Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement.
The ministry also commended the diplomatic efforts and the constructive role played by Qatar and Türkiye in this regard.
