Saudi Gazette report
RIYADH — The Ministry of Commerce has been successful in preventing more than five million counterfeit products from reaching consumers, thanks to the oversight efforts made by its inspection teams.
The ministry revealed this in its quarterly consumer protection bulletin for the third quarter of 2025. It highlighted the most prominent actions and efforts that were made in the areas of combating commercial fraud, commercial and e-commerce cover-up, and other crimes.
The bulletin highlighted that the ministry’s teams continue carrying out inspection visits to combat fraud and commercial cover-up, and regulating the work of the unified call center for consumer complaints, Bainah, which enhances integration among government agencies to protect consumer rights.
The bulletin highlighted the compliance rates of e-stores in the evaluation, the results of which were recently announced by the ministry, in accordance with the ten criteria that 100 e-stores were subjected to in the first phase. The goal is to raise compliance rates and enable stores to improve their services.
During the past three months, the ministry processed more than 168,000 commercial complaints, with e-store complaints being the most frequently received ones, followed by contractual disputes and non-compliance.
