SEOUL — Minister of Municipalities and Housing Majed Al-Hogail is visiting South Korea as part of an ongoing strategic approach to enhancing international cooperation in the fields of housing, infrastructure, and smart cities. Al-Hogail arrived in Seoul, capital of South Korea, after his visit to China.
The Kingdom and Korea have enjoyed a strong partnership in this field since 2016, when a memorandum of understanding was signed in the housing sector, followed by executive programs in 2021 and 2023 that expanded cooperation to include smart cities and urban digital transformation.
This cooperation saw significant development through a partnership with the Korean company NAVER Corporation, which contributed to establishing digital twins of the Kingdom’s cities and developing technical solutions that enhance the efficiency of urban services and the beneficiary experience.
This visit aligns with a comprehensive vision to strengthen the integration of technology and housing and to exchange global expertise, supporting the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 to build smart and sustainable cities that improve the quality of life for citizens.
