WASHINGTON — The Saudi Arabian Cultural Mission to the United States announced that 267 Saudi students are currently enrolled in space and space sciences programs in various American universities. The announcement, which coincides with the World Space Week, highlights Saudi students’ diverse academic paths in engineering, science, and space operations.

The cultural mission said that the scholarship programs cover a wide range of tracks, including aerospace engineering, space science and engineering, physics and astronomy, astrophysics, earth and space exploration, aerospace management and operations, aerospace security, and space operations, in addition to advanced career tracks in professional aviation and aviation management.

The mission emphasized that training these specialists is crucial for the Kingdom's future. Their presence in these fields directly contributes to localizing space industries, enhances the efficiency of the national research, development, and innovation system, and strengthens scientific cooperation between Saudi and US universities.

This specialized academic focus also encourages students to participate in cooperative training programs, joint research, and the publication of scientific papers in specialized journals. The celebration of World Space Week serves as an ideal opportunity to highlight Saudi success stories in the vital space sector as well as to affirm the complementary roles of the Ministry of Education and national space agencies in achieving global competitiveness
