RIYADH — The Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority (ZATCA) revealed that land, sea, and air customs ports across Saudi Arabia recorded a total of 1,509 contraband seizures during the last week.
ZATCA stated that the seized items include 105 types of narcotics, such as hashish, cocaine, heroin, shabu, Captagon pills, and others, in addition to 793 prohibited substances.
It added that customs ports witnessed the foiling of 2,689 packs of tobacco and its derivatives, along with 30 types of cash and six types of weapons and related supplies.
ZATCA affirmed that it is continuing to tighten customs control over the Kingdom's imports and exports so as to ensure the security and protection of society, and that it is in cooperation and continuous coordination with all its partners from relevant authorities.
