NEW YORK — Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan met on Saturday with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on the sidelines of the 80th session of the UN General Assembly in New York.

The two sides reviewed avenues of cooperation between Saudi Arabia and the United Nations and stressed the importance of strengthening multilateral work to address accelerating global challenges.

Discussions also focused on mechanisms for international cooperation amid humanitarian crises and regional conflicts, as well as the need to enhance the UN’s role as a unifying platform supporting just humanitarian causes and providing assistance to people worldwide to achieve security, stability, and prosperity.
