RIYADH — The General Authority of Zakat, Tax and Customs (GAZTC) revealed that land, sea, and air customs ports in Saudi Arabia recorded 1,511 contraband seizures during the last week.
GAZTC stated that the seized items include 84 types of narcotics, such as hashish, cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, and Captagon pills, in addition to 1,406 other prohibited items.
The authority stated that customs checkpoints also foiled the smuggling of 2,041 packages of tobacco and tobacco products, along with 23 items of currency, and three items of weapons and related equipment.
GAZTC emphasized that it is committed to strengthening customs control over the Kingdom's imports and exports so as to ensure the safety and security of society, through continuous cooperation and coordination with all relevant partner agencies.
