Saudi Gazette report

RIYADH — The Transport General Authority (TGA) announced on Saturday that it has begun accepting applications from companies that are interested in participating in its pilot program for the operation of autonomous vehicles.

This initiative is part of the authority’s efforts to promote investment in this sector and expand the development and implementation of a smart and safe transportation system in the Kingdom. This announcement follows the initial pilot phase for autonomous vehicles, which the TGA launched last week in Riyadh in partnership with several government and private sector entities. It aligns with the objectives of the National Transport and Logistics Strategy and Saudi Vision 2030.

The authority emphasized that this step will enable both local and international companies to enter the autonomous vehicle market. Applications will be submitted electronically, requiring applicants to complete an application form via a QR code. This will allow the authority to evaluate applications based on specific and rigorous technical criteria.

The TGA invited interested companies to complete the application form via the following link: (https://www.tga.gov.sa/SharedFile/e5ab3cfd-46f5-45df-9fe9-488376a5b3ed) and then submit it to the TGA's email address: 19929@tga.gov.sa.
