Trump says Gaza talks show rare goodwill for lasting peace

September 27, 2025

WASHINGTON — US President Donald Trump said Friday that discussions with Middle Eastern countries over Gaza have been “very inspired and productive,” expressing optimism about the prospects for a lasting peace agreement.

“Intense negotiations have been going on for four days, and will continue for as long as necessary in order to get a Successfully Completed Agreement,” Trump wrote on his Truth Social platform.

He said all countries in the region are participating, that the Palestinian resistance group Hamas is aware of the discussions, and that Israel, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, has been informed “at every level.”

“There is more eagerness and goodwill to reach a deal, after so many decades, than I have ever seen before,” Trump added, noting that all parties want to leave behind what he called an era of “Death and Darkness.”

Taking pride in being involved in the negotiations, Trump concluded: “We must get the Hostages back, and get a PERMANENT AND LONGLASTING PEACE!” — Agencies
