September 21, 2025

GAZA CITY — At least 23 Palestinians were killed and dozens more injured Sunday in a series of Israeli airstrikes across Gaza, according to medical sources.

Five people were killed and several others wounded when Israeli warplanes bombed a residential apartment in the al-Daraj neighborhood of central Gaza City.

In the same area, eight Palestinians — including children — died after Israeli forces struck a civilian gathering near the Hamza Mosque, with dozens more injured.

Another strike in the al-Sabra neighborhood hit several houses, killing five Palestinians and injuring others.

Civil defense teams said the toll is expected to rise as rescue workers search for victims trapped beneath the rubble.

In Tel al-Hawa, southwest Gaza City, a woman was killed and others injured when Israeli forces shelled a civilian gathering.

Meanwhile, in al-Mughraqa, north of the Nuseirat refugee camp, a Palestinian man was killed in an airstrike targeting civilians.

In central Gaza’s Bureij refugee camp, three people were killed and 20 injured when Israeli shelling struck near an UNRWA medical clinic.

Since October 7, 2023, Israel’s military campaign in Gaza has killed more than 65,000 Palestinians, the majority women and children, according to local health authorities.

The war has displaced hundreds of thousands, while a blockade on humanitarian aid has caused the deaths of at least 442 people, including 147 children. — Agencies
