RIYADH — The General Authority of Zakat, Tax and Customs (GAZTC) revealed that land, sea, and air customs ports across Saudi Arabia recorded 1,380 cases of contraband seizure during the past week.
GAZTC stated that the seized items include 157 types of narcotics such as hashish, cocaine, heroin, methamphetamine, and Captagon pills, in addition to 875 other prohibited items.
The authority said that customs checkpoints also intercepted 2,246 packages of tobacco and tobacco products, along with 38 items of currency, and five items of weapons and accessories.
GAZTC emphasized that it is committed to strengthening customs control over imports and exports to the Kingdom, in order to ensure the security and protection of society, through continuous cooperation and coordination with all relevant partner agencies.
